The world around us is busy and fast paced, especially now.
Technology has made people into different beings.
We are consumed within our phones and computers. Anything technological seems to make our lives easy.
As with anything, an influx of technology can be good, as well as bad.
Today’s topics, Ask Not, Have Not comes from a Bible verse. The verse actually states the following:
We Have Not Because We Ask Not
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
So you see, it’s pretty simple. If you want something, you must go to GOD and ask him for whatever it is you are wanting. Is it going to automatically come to you like a genie rubbing on an urn? No, most of the time it will not. However, if you stand in faith knowing that God hears you and that you trust that if it’s for your good then it will happen in due season.
The reason why I decided to write this post if because I was simply praying to God like I do every day – – all day. The next morning when I woke up I picked up my phone to see that my prayer had been answered double time. Yes, you heard me. It was answered times 2.
I’m always wondering what is it like to live in someone’s shoes who don’t pray and who don’t believe in a being higher than themselves. Let me step back for just a minute because I don’t want you guys to think I was always like I am today.
There was a time whenever someone came around me with bible talk or inviting me to go to church with them — I would go the other direction. Today, I can laugh about my youngness back then. I can remember in school there was this girl that would ALWAYS smile. I would wonder why was she always so happy and smiling all of the time at such a young age. In my mind, I can clearly see her face today, smiling and joyous.
Don’t get it twisted. I’m not sure I ever had that kinda light shown through me. Nevertheless, I know where it came from. I know exactly how she feels because she was a Christian. She knew something that I didn’t know at the time. She never pushed religion on me. She simply let her light shine for all the world to see.
Jesus talks about letting our light shine. Our pastors talk about how people would listen to us and watch us quicker than they would attend a church service.
Jesus says, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.
Matthew 4:19
If you just learn to trust in God and believe that he will give you the desires of your heart, your life will flow a lot easier in this fallen world.
Am I saying things will be perfect? No, I’m not. I am saying that when you believe – you receive. When you live your life like Jesus then you will continue receiving blessings upon blessings.
I am living proof that Jesus hears everything we say. HE knows our hearts and our requests. IF I can pray one night and wake up the next morning and he bless me with something that I prayed for then I know he can do the same for you.
Why do I know this you say? Because he is not a respecter of persons.
God is no respecter of persons
James 2:9
The next time you are feeling down and you feel like God isn’t listening. Log onto the computer and look for this post. Better yet, print it out and hang it on your wall. Read and mediate on it daily. IF he can do it for me, HE can do it for you.
